5/7/13--RT was lots of fun, though I could have done with more sleep. When I
got home, I discovered a box with copies of the French edition of Bedding
Lord Ned and the audio version of Surprising Lord Jack.
4/26/13--I'm getting ready to leave for the RT convention in Kansas City,
but first some news--"The Duchess of Love" made the final round in the
novella category of the National Readers' Choice Awards! And here's a
warning. Our poor computer is on its last legs, so if I seem to go silent
for too long here, do check my
blog. I readily confess I'm not much of a blogger, but it's my alternate
avenue to post things--besides Facebook and Twitter, of course.
3/30/13--Exciting news! "The Duchess of Love" is a finalist in the Romance
Writers of America's RITA® contest's Romance Novella
category. The winners are announced at the RWA National Conference in July.
If you'd like to see the list of finalists, it's
here. In
other news, I've had many people ask when Ash's book will be out--and I now
have an answer: Loving Lord Ash debuts in March 2014. I'm polishing
the manuscript up now.
3/12/13--Here's a very cool e-postcard my publisher, Kensington, has
designed. If you click on any of the icons at the bottom, you should be
taken to the book's page on that site for your purchasing pleasure, lol!
3/5/13--And Surprising Lord Jack is out in the world! I'll be over at
Vanessa Kelly's site on
March 7 and at The Risky Regencies
blog on March 10, so do stop by if you get the chance. I've also updated
my in person appearances on my "Happenings" page. And I'd wish everyone in
the Northern Hemisphere a happy spring, but we're supposed to get our first
big snowstorm in two years tomorrow. Of course, around the D.C. area you can
never tell. We might get a foot of snow or we might just get a lot of rain.
I'll be inside anyway, polishing up Loving Lord Ash.
2/26/13--Only one more week until Surprising Lord Jack is out, and
I'm very excited to say that Booklist gave it a starred review!
1/19/13--Happy new year, everyone! I'm still working on Ash's book--Loving
Lord Ash, tentatively scheduled for Spring 2014. And Jack's book will be out
in just a little over a month! Reviews are starting to come in--check my
"Reviews" page--and so far "he" seems to be well received. Meanwhile, I've
updated my "Happenings" page with my 2013 appearances. The first one is in
February at the
Washington Loves Romance get together. If you're in the D.C. area,
please consider coming by. Besides promising to be a great time, the event
benefits the Washington Literacy Center.
12/28/12--The year is winding down. I'm still working away on Ash's story,
but I thought I'd take a moment to add a few of my foreign covers on my
"Around the World" page, so head on over there if you'd like to have a peek.
Best wishes for a wonderful 2013!
11/9/12--I just found out that Bedding Lord Ned is one of Booklist's
Top Ten Romances of 2012! You can find the full list
here.
11/6/12--First, a much belated report of happy news: The Duchess of Love
won the New Jersey Romance Writers' Golden Leaf award for best novella! I
was shocked and delighted. Second, I've finished Surprising Lord Jack's
page proofs, which means I won't see the book again until it comes out on
March 5 (or thereabouts). It also means, since I'm now done with revising
and polishing, I've posted the first chapter. Just click
here or
on the cover to go read it.
10/6/12--I had a wonderful time in the English Lake District, hiking and
seeing historic homes. Now I'm recovering from a head cold and trying to
organize my photos before I forget everything! If you want to see what I've
been up to, I've revived my
blog to have a place to organize my thoughts. The account of my trip
starts on Oct. 1. I'll be adding to it over the next week or two. I'm also
hard at work on page proofs from Surprising Lord Jack--they arrived a
few days after I returned. And I'm off the the New Jersey Romance Writers
conference on Friday. It will be nice to take train instead of a plane!
9/4/12--I'm happy to report that the computer hasn't died...yet, and the
rehearsal dinner and wedding were successes! The weather even cooperated. I
hope to have pictures to post here in the next few months, but if you're on
Facebook, you can see some by "liking" my page--just click on the Facebook
link down this page on the right. The wedding wasn't our only August
activity--son #2 moved and took a new job (though he's still in the general
area) and son #4 moved out of our house (he's also still in the area) so we
are back to being empty nesters. In book news, I'm finishing up copy edits
for Surprising Lord Jack, and "The Duchess of Love" is a
finalist in the New Jersey Romance Writers' Golden Leaf contest. Fun!
8/13/12--I'm back from RWA. It was great to see my friends and meet up
with my agent, my editor, and the other folks from Kensington. I even
met my French publisher at the book signing, which was a special surprise.
And, of course, it is wonderful to have a chance to chat with readers.
Now I'm scurrying around, trying to get ready for our son's wedding.
The rehearsal dinner is at our house, so much cleaning and straightening are
underway. And the computer on which I have my web site software is
making very unpleasant noises. I'm crossing my fingers it won't die
before the wedding.
7/20/12--I'm busy getting ready to leave for the annual Romance Writers of
America conference. I'm happy to report I turned Jack's story in at
the beginning of July, in the midst of the derecho power outages.
(When we went out to dinner, I asked for a table with an outlet so I could
charge up my lap top. We were without electricity from Friday night to
Wednesday morning and without Internet till Thursday evening.)
Surprising Lord Jack is currently scheduled to come out in March.
Now I'm turning to Ash's story. In other news, a fun profile of me ran
in my alumni magazine. If you want to have a look, click
here.
6/5/12--Bedding Lord Ned is finally out in the world! I'll be
over on the USA Today Happily Ever After blog around 1 pm East Coast time to
celebrate.
6/4/12--"The Duchess of Love" is sitting at #1 in the Free Kindle
store--or at least it was when I started typing this sentence. It
seems to be free at all the e-marketplaces today, so if you haven't done so
already, it would be a good time to grab a copy--just in time for Bedding
Lord Ned's release tomorrow. And if you haven't made the jump to
e-reading, the novella is included in the back of the print copy of Ned.
5/3/12--More fun news, this time from the Booksellers' Best contest--I'm a
double finalist! The Naked King made the cut in the Long
Historical category, while "The Naked Prince" is in the running in
the Novella group.
4/24/12--"The Duchess of Love," my e-novella and prequel to my new series,
releases today! You can read an excerpt
here.
4/21/12--While recovering from the RT convention and pushing to finish the
second book of my Duchess of Love series, I got some fun news--"The Naked
Prince," my novella in An Invitation to Sin, is a finalist in the
National Readers' Choice Awards for best Novella of 2011! I'm so
delighted!
3/20/12--I just found out Publishers Weekly gave Bedding Lord Ned a
starred review! You can read the review
here.
2/23/12--I'm hard at work on the second book in my Duchess of Love
trilogy--head down, nose to grindstone--but I decided I'd better take a
break and give you a taste of my upcoming releases. Today I've added
an excerpt from the prequel novella due out the end of April/beginning of
May. For those of you who prefer print, it will be included in the
print version of Bedding Lord Ned. Click on the cover to go
find it! I'm also trying to figure out how to put a Facebook "badge"
here, but until I puzzle that out, you can find my Fan page
here.

1/8/12--A belated happy new year! I'll have two stories out this year:
an e-novella, "The Duchess of Love," in May and a book, Bedding
Lord Ned, in June. We've been tweaking the covers a bit, so I
don't have them yet, but both stories are up for pre-order on various sites.
If you've got a favorite on-line bookseller, please check them out.
Once I have the final covers, I'll add them here with excerpts and links.
The novella, a prequel to the trilogy, tells the story of how Venus
Collingswood, an inveterate matchmaker even at the young age of 19, meets
her duke and becomes not just the Duchess of Greycliffe, but the "Duchess of
Love." The three books are set a generation later when Venus is trying
to meddle in her sons' love lives. Bedding Lord Ned is about
her second son, Ned, a widower, and Ellie Bowman, the girl who's loved him
since they were children. Now I'm hard at work on the second
book--Lord Jack the "baby's" story. I'm saving Lord Ashton, the heir's
tale for last. Oh, and if you haven't yet made the jump to digital,
don't despair. The novella will be included in the print book.
10/31/11--"The Naked Prince" won the Golden Leaf for best novella!
And I won a basket! And I saw lots of friends I hadn't had a chance to
chat with for a long time, so the conference was great fun. But before
I left for New Jersey, I was in mad editing mode, going through the copy
edits of my new novella--"The Duchess of Love."
9/15/2011--I am SO excited!! The Naked King made Booklist's Top
Ten Romance Fiction list for 2011. You can find the list
here.
5/9/11--Yipes! Where did April go? It's now less than one month
until The Naked King's official release date! Please stop by my
blog--you'll find daily
activity there from now until the King is out. Today I've
posted a very cool clickable e-postcard. Here it is, but to get the
click-through feature, you'll have to go to the blog. And don't miss
out on the Kensington contest! I'll be posting my own contest on the
blog tomorrow. And later in the month, I'll put up chapter 2 in 14
snippets. So please join me there!

3/31/11--I
just got some wonderful news! ALA Booklist gave The Naked King a
starred review. Yippee!!
7/22/10--Great news! The Naked Viscount got a starred review from Booklist!!
I'm so excited. Check out my reviews page to see what reviewers are

about
choosing an agent and visited the Riskies to talk about how I've been
writing the Naked books.
9/23/07--I just did a fun interview with BookThink about romance and the
Naked Nobility--you can find it
